Tottenham – Barcelona forecast. Champions League

The central match of the Champions League group stage’s second round will be held at Wembley – Tottenham will host Barcelona.

Barcelona has recently seen a recession, it’s a fact. Ernesto Valverde’s men weren’t able to win in three rounds of La Liga in a row. And, and it must be mentioned, not against the most formidable opponents: a draw with Girona, defeat from Leganes and a draw with Athletic Bilbao.

First and foremost, it seems to me that Barca has problems with hacking a competently built defensive game now, in particular, when the opponent uses 5-4-1 formation. Mauricio Pochettino probably knows the Catalans’ flaws, and I won’t be surprised we’ll see the Spurs using formation with 3 centrebacks on Wednesday. In addition, they’ve already used this tactical mode in several Premier League matches this season. 3-1-4-2 against Watford (1: 2 defeat) and 3-4-2-1 against Huddersfield (2: 0 win).

By the way, Tottenham already knows how to beat the Spanish heavyweights in the Champions League. Last season, they were very successful against Real Madrid by beating them 3: 1 at home and took the first place in the group.

So, I can’t really agree with the rates that the bookmakers rolled out for this match. And they made Barcelona a favourite. I’m pretty sure that Tottenham won’t lose here at least!
