Bayern Munich – Ajax forecast. 02.10.2018

Bayern Munich will host Ajax in the Champions League group stage second round at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern have stalled a little bit after a great start to the season – 7 wins out of 7 games, gaining only 1 point in the last two rounds of Bundesliga. Home draw vs Augsburg (1: 1) and a 0-2 defeat in Berlin vs Hertha. Niko Kovac’s team aren’t in the best psychological mooeld before the Champions League match. And although Bayern plays at home, against the in-form Ajax it won’t be easy.

Although Ajax have lost 0: 3 to PSV, they look fairly confident in the domestic championship, settling in the 2nd place after Eindhoven, having scored 16 goals in 7 matches. Erik ten Hag’s Ajax always uses one tactical formation – 4-2-3-1. There is a very rich midfield line in the team, with really good performers such as Hakim Ziech from Morocco, an experienced serbian Dusan Tadic, danish defensive midfielder Lasse Schöne, and young Frankie de Jong, who is already been hunted by top clubs. The immortal Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is the main attacking force, who has repeatedly scored against Bayern in his career.

In general, the attacking potential of the Dutch team is very impressive, I think. I expect guests to upset the Germans at least once because they have some defensive problems nowadays. But Bayern is at home and of course i expect them to score too. From here, I’ll venture to assume that there will be goals from both sides.
