Bookmakers of Nevada State have suffered losses in August

Bookmakers with a local license and officially working in Nevada have suffered losses from their activities in August this year.

According to the local regulator, income from gambling in the last month of the summer fell by 12.4%.

In addition, Nevada’s gambling industry shows the lowest figures for the year, which are just $ 913 million.

Bookmakers operating in Las Vegas believe that the fall has occured due to the lack of major sports competitions in August.

Note that last year’s revenue of Nevada’s operators was $ 989.5 million. A significant part of  money was brought by the legendary boxing fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.

According to the regulator’s report, this year it was possible to get profit from betting on baseball and American football. The most unsuccessful sport for bookmakers in Nevada was basketball. The losses from betting on NBA and WNBA amounted to $ 901 thousand.

But, despite financial losses, the US budget is being replenished by state legalization of betting in four states.
