Georgia to introduce the new project for gambling business

The Revenue Service of Georgia intends to introduce a project to obtain complete statistics of gambling business in the country.

This event will allow the authorities to take full control of all revenues and deductions from each device and gambling offices operating in the country. This kind of control mechanism is only at the development stage now, but the start of the project is scheduled for December of this year.

These innovations used to touch both bookmakers’ taxes and license prices. It costs $ 800,000 to buy a license to open a gambling office in Georgia with the highest prices in Tbilisi – $ 2 million. The government doesn’t name the new license prices at the moment.

There are more than 90 terrestrial gambling offices and 7 licensed gambling websites operating in Georgia. Gambling is very popular not only among the inhabitants of the country, but also among tourists and amounts to 7% of GDP.
