SkyBet’s CEO speaks against Labour’s plans

Sky Betting and Gaming (SBG) General Director Richard Flint opposed the Labour Party’s proposals to ban the gambling services advertising in the UK during live sports competitions.

This week the Labour Party published its annual review of the rules related to gambling.

Its representative Tom Watson commented on some particularly important points. He noted that there is an epidemic of problem games in U.K and this requires deeper regulation by the government.

Watson highlighted that the Italian government recently decided to ban the gambling promotion and Britain should go on  the same way.

Richard Flint of SBG believes that such measures will deprive legitimate operators from opportunity to enter the UK bookmaker market and make customers more vulnerable to unscrupulous offices.

For example, in Italy, such cases are already actively discussed. Facebook and Google pointed out that unlicensed bookmakers were at the top of the search requests list for Italian players.
