South Dakota may allow betting officially

From today on it’s known that South Dakota could become the next US state where betting will be officially legalized.

The enterprise will be considered by the local lawmakers next week.

It’s reported that this issue is planned to be worked out under the 2020th election campaign. However, the nearby states haven’t yet commented on the news. Their opinion also largely depends on whether South Dakota will be granted betting legalization or not.

A representative of the regulator noted that South Dakota doesn’t want to stay away from the discussions related to sports betting legalization. The state wants to be a part of this process.

He also said that betting market already exists in South Dakota but it lies in the shadow.

The government’s permission will make it possible to get away from illegal bookmakers as well as to attract new tourists to the state.

Most US states are fighting for an authorization of betting because of the opportunity to develop in the tourism sector. This will help to increase the regions’ treasury due to the tax levied on each bookmaker recieving a license from the local regulator.
